Huge game by Sommer boosts Bismarck over Aberdeen, 7-2

Castan Sommer was all over the ice for the Bismarck Bobcats, as he tallied one goal and three assists in Bismarck's 7-2 win over the Aberdeen Wings.

Sommer got on the board by slotting home a power play goal 6:23 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Bismarck. The Bobcats had gotten the advantage when Aberdeen's Joe Mottiqua was sent off for slashing. Donald Olivieri picked up the assist. Sommer dished an assist on Tyler Richter's goal that made the score 2-1 Bismarck at 13 seconds into the third period. He then added assists on Richter's goal at 16:29 into the third and on Richter's goal at 19:06 into the third.

The win gave Bismarck a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.

The Bobcats forced the Wings goalie Marcus Zelzer to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots.

Buster Hebda also scored for Bismarck. More assists for Bismarck came via Bryce Anderson, who had one, Francis DeAugustine, who had four, and Daniel Zawacki and Patrick Moore, who contributed two a piece.

Aberdeen was helped by Paul Prescott, who grabbed one goal. Prescott scored 3:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aberdeen. Kevin Becker provided the assist. Aberdeen also got a goal from Steve Obarzanek as well. In addition, Aberdeen received assists from Justin Parizek, Mack Ohnsted, and Lane Mahoney, who each chipped in one.

Tommy Burke made 25 saves for Bismarck on 27 shots. The Bobcats incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Zelzer recorded 46 saves for the Wings. Aberdeen incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
