Brampton tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Montreal held on for a 4-2 victory.

Montreal's penalty kill excelled, as Montreal gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Montreal stifled Brampton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Montreal's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Montreal finished with 16 penalty minutes.

Montreal was helped by Alyssa Cecere, who tallied one goal. Cecere scored 23 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Montreal. Julie Chu picked up the assist. Caroline Ouellette also scored for Montreal.
