Behind a great game by Christos Papaioannou, who had two goals, the Toledo Cherokee defeated the Queen City Steam, 5-1. Papaioannou scored at 16:49 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Toledo and again while on the power play 16:15 into the third to make the score 5-1 Toledo.Toledo excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Queen City was unable to stop the Cherokee from sending pucks towards the net, and Toledo eventually piled up 52 shots on goal. Toledo additionally got points from Ryan Kelly, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and Mike Baker, who also tallied one goal and two assists. In addition, Toledo received assists from Ben Henry, Drew Crandall, Gary Neill, and Mareks Kepals, who each chipped in one. The Steam did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Queen City averages 4.3 goals per game. The Steam were led by Zachary Barngrover, who scored the team's only goal. Joey Rebedew recorded 47 saves for Queen City. The Steam ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
