Mandrapilias lifts Thamesford over Lambeth, 7-4

Behind a great game by Stavros Mandrapilias, who had two goals, the Thamesford Trojans defeated the Lambeth Lancers, 7-4.

Mandrapilias found the back of the net 17:29 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 8:39 into the third to make the score 5-4 Thamesford.

The win by Thamesford clinched the best of seven series at 0-4.

The Trojans' offense rang up 36 shots on Lambeth's net.

Thamesford also got points from Travis Parkin, who also registered one goal and two assists and Kyle Walker, who also tallied one goal and three assists. Thamesford also had goals scored by James Toye, who had one and Jake Hunter, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for Thamesford were Matt Higgins, who had two and Ethan Doan, Tyler Vere, Jason Duncan, Brandyn Di Domenico, and Connor Allison, who each chipped in one.

The Lancers forced Thamesford goalie Chris Walker to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. Team could not crack the Trojans' penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Lambeth was led by Mitch Furlonger, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Furlonger scored on the power play 5:51 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Lambeth. The Lancers had gained a power play chance when John Publicover was whistled for high sticking. Mike Golinowski picked up the assist. Lambeth additionally got points from Conor Chilvers, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Tanner Smith also scored for Lambeth. More assists for Lambeth came via Anthony Sachetti and Ryan Pennington, who contributed one a piece.

Chris Walker made 31 saves for Thamesford on 35 shots. The Trojans totaled 37 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors and one major and went 2-for-6 on the power play. For Thamesford, Publicover was ejected from the game. JP Trudell recorded 29 saves for Lambeth. The Lancers incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors.
