Stouffville downs Georgetown in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Stouffville Spirit pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Georgetown Raiders on a clutch goal by Paul Geiger.

The win by Stouffville clinched the best of seven series at 4-3.

The Spirit were led by Geiger, who tallied one goal. Geiger scored 11:15 into overtime to make the score 4-3 Stouffville. Drake Caggiula assisted on the tally.

In a losing effort, Georgetown was led by Tyson Fawcett, who racked up two goals and one assist. Fawcett scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 1:14 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Raiders had gotten the advantage when Stouffville's Michael Robinson was sent off for goalie interference. Stephen Genua provided the assist. Fawcett's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 49 seconds left in the third period. Jake Emilio assisted on the tally.

Georgetown was unable to stop the Spirit from sending pucks towards the net, and Stouffville eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

Stouffville additionally got points from Chris Porter, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Alex Botten, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Caggiula, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for Stouffville came via Josh Chapman, who had one.

The Raiders kept the Spirit's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jonathan Hall made 32 saves on 35 shots.

Georgetown also got points from Genua, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Conor McLoughlin, who had one.

Stouffville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Steven Racine recorded 39 saves for Georgetown. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
