Brampton survives Toronto comeback, wins 4-2

Brampton came close to giving away a three-goal lead to Toronto, but did just enough to escape with a 4-2 victory.

Brampton led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Brampton's Allyson Fox's scored at 17:46 in the second period to put Brampton up 3-0.

Brampton's penalty kill excelled, as Brampton gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Brampton stifled Toronto's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Brampton got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Brampton could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

Brampton additionally got points from Vicki Bendus, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Lori Dupuis, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Molly Engstrom also scored for Brampton. In addition, Brampton received assists from Courtney Birchard, who had one and Ashley Riggs, who had two.

Toronto stifled Brampton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Toronto was helped by Kristy Zamora, who racked up one goal. Zamora scored 8:03 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Brampton. Mallory Deluce provided the assist. Toronto also got a goal from Frances McPhail as well. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto were Meagan Aarts, Britni Smith, and Jess Scanzano, who contributed one a piece.

Brampton registered zero goals on five power play opportunities. Toronto incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
