Boston's Stack deadly on offense in 5-2 win against Toronto

Boston relied on the scoring touch of Kelli Stack, who netted two goals, to beat Toronto, 5-2.

Stack's tallies came at 3:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Boston and 7:50 into the second to make the score 2-1 Boston.

Boston additionally got points from Whitney Naslund, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Gigi Marvin, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Jessica Koizumi, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Boston received assists from Erika Lawler, Shannon Sisk, Katelyn Kurth, and Jaclyn Hawkins, who each chipped in one.

Toronto's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Boston power plays. Toronto's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Toronto finished with 14 penalty minutes.

Toronto was led by Britni Smith, who had one goal. Smith scored 4:19 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Tessa Bonhomme assisted on the tally. Toronto also got a goal from Kori Cheverie as well. More assists for Toronto came via Mallory Deluce and Jess Scanzano, who contributed one a piece.

Boston incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Toronto registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
