Brampton survived a determined comeback attempt by Boston on the way to a 3-2 win. Brampton made the score 3-1 on a goal by Jayna Hefford at 17:45 in the second period, and Boston got as close as 3-2 when Jaclyn Hawkins scored 19:19 into the third period. Brampton was led by Hefford, who had one goal. Brampton excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Brampton also got a goal from Andrea Ironside as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brampton were Vicki Bendus, who had two and Cherie Piper, Molly Engstrom, Lori Dupuis, and Courtney Unruh, who each chipped in one. Boston put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Brampton to score on any of its three power plays. Boston was helped by Alyssa Wohlfeiler, who finished with one goal. Wohlfeiler scored 7:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Boston. Jessica Koizumi picked up the assist. In addition, Boston received assists from Gigi Marvin and Kacey Bellamy, who contributed one a piece. Brampton incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
