Mike Baker netted a hat trick to lead the Toledo Cherokee over the Queen City Steam, 6-4. Baker's first goal came 10:10 into the third period. He then added goals at 11:17 into the third and at 19:12 into the third.The win by Toledo clinched the best of three series at 2-1. The Cherokee forced Queen City goalie Joey Rebedew to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. Toledo additionally got points from Ryan Kelly, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Toledo also got a goal from Joe Skrzynski as well. Other players who recorded assists for Toledo were Mareks Kepals, who had two and Andrew Benyo, Sean Gregory, James Steele, Gary Neill, and Patrick Smiatacz, who each chipped in one. The Steam had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on 11 chances. Queen City was led by Nick Okada, who had one goal and one assist. Okada scored on the power play 6:39 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Queen City. The Steam had taken the advantage when Toledo's Neill got sent off for kneeing. Taylor Penman picked up the assist. Ryan Faucheux also scored for Queen City. In addition, Queen City received assists from Eric Woodward and Trevor Anderson, who contributed one a piece. The Cherokee's Austyn Roudebush stopped 18 shots out of the 22 that he faced. Toledo totaled 31 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major and went 3-for-8 on the power play. Rebedew rejected 39 shots on goal for Queen City. The Steam incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
