The St. Louis Jr. Blues pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Peoria Mustangs on a clutch goal by Ryan Basgall. St. Louis evened the best of three series at 1-1 and forced a deciding game three. The Jr. Blues were led by Basgall, who racked up one goal. Basgall scored on the power play 15:21 into overtime to make the score 3-2 St. Louis. St. Louis had gotten the advantage when Peoria's Alexander Turin was sent off for tripping. Paul OConnor assisted on the tally. The Jr. Blues put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Mustangs to score on any of their four power plays. St. Louis' offense rang up 58 shots on Peoria's net. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Daniel Rosse also scored for St. Louis. Other players who recorded assists for St. Louis were Johnny Mueller and Patrick Gregory, who contributed one a piece. The Mustangs were helped by Nathan Chasteen, who finished with one goal and one assist. Chasteen scored 15:15 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Michael Mikulan provided the assist. The Jr. Blues' Mitchell Fernsler stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. St. Louis incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Michael Parda made 55 saves for Peoria on 58 shots. The Mustangs incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
