The Granite City Lumberjacks' Riley Bengtson scored 10:37 into overtime to beat the North Iowa Bulls, 2-1 (OT). After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, North Iowa faces elimination next time out. Granite City was led by Bengtson, who finished with one goal. The Lumberjacks forced the Bulls goalie Matthew Bartels to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. Granite City also got a goal from Trevor Ness as well. More assists for Granite City came via Nick LaRue, DJ Vold, Brian Richert, and Nathan Kohlenhoefer, who contributed one a piece. North Iowa was led by Noah Anderson, who scored the team's only goal. Anderson scored on the power play 13:06 into the second period to make the score 1-0 North Iowa. The Bulls had gained a power play chance when Richert was whistled for holding. Eric Behrend assisted on the tally. Granite City's Matt Grove stopped 18 shots out of the 19 that he faced. The Lumberjacks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Matthew Bartels made 40 saves for North Iowa on 42 shots. The Bulls incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
