Cleveland's comeback falls short, Flint wins 5-3

The Flint Jr. Generals, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Flint and clinched a 5-3 victory.

The Jr. Generals led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Flint's Andrew Lay's scored at 17:52 in the second period to put the Jr. Generals up 4-1.

The win by Flint clinched the best of three series at 2-0.

The Jr. Generals got the win on the strength of a great game by Lay, who had one goal and two assists.

Flint forced the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks goalie Lawrence Dvorak Jr to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Flint additionally got points from Cody Damon, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and William Kocher, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Flint also got a goal from Kenneth Miloser as well. In addition, Flint received assists from Richard Jansson and Lucas McDiarimid, who contributed two a piece.

Cleveland excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

The Jr. Lumberjacks were helped by Zach Seither, who racked up one goal. Seither scored 18:55 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Flint. Cleveland also got points from Kyle Fink, who also had one goal and one assist. Louis Sawchik also scored for Cleveland. More assists for Cleveland came via Andrew Sprouse, Andrew Mitch, and Fred West, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Generals' Benjamin Myers stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Flint incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Dvorak Jr rejected 33 shots on goal for Cleveland. The Jr. Lumberjacks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
