Veerman(A) leads AURORA over OTTAWA, 4-1

Behind a great game by Brianna Veerman(A), who had two goals and one assist, AURORA defeated OTTAWA, 4-1.

Veerman(A)'s tallies came at 9:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 AURORA and 12:34 into the first to make the score 2-0 AURORA.

After the loss made the series score 0-2 in the best of five series, OTTAWA faces elimination next time out.

AURORA was led by goalie Paula Voorheis, who finished with 35 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Voorheis will be reflected in her goals against average, which pre-game was 1.2.

OTTAWA's power play was ineffective against AURORA's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

AURORA also got points from Courtney Brindamour-McClure(A), who also tallied one goal and one assist. Alie Brindamour-McClure(A) also scored for AURORA. In addition, AURORA received assists from Bryanna Neuwald, who had one and Caroline DeBruin(A) and Jessica Gillham, who contributed two a piece.

OTTAWA's offense rang up 36 shots on AURORA's net.

OTTAWA was led by Morgan Richardson (A), who scored the team's only goal. Richardson (A) scored 57 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 AURORA. Jessica Harvey assisted on the tally.

AURORA incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors. Amanda Leveille made 21 saves for OTTAWA on 24 shots. OTTAWA incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
