BLUEWATER relied on the scoring touch of Rebecca Kohler, who netted two goals, to beat STONEY CREEK, 2-1. Kohler's tallies came at 9:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 BLUEWATER and 5:56 into the third to make the score 2-1 BLUEWATER.After the loss made the series score 1-2 in the best of five series, STONEY CREEK faces elimination next time out. BLUEWATER pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes. BLUEWATER excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. In addition, BLUEWATER received assists from Dominique Korakianitis, who had one and Cayley Mercer, who had two. STONEY CREEK's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six BLUEWATER power plays. STONEY CREEK was led by Sarah Nurse (A), who scored the team's only goal. Nurse (A) scored 12:34 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Sydney McKibbon (C) provided the assist. Brooke Gibson made 24 saves for BLUEWATER on 25 shots.
