The Port Colborne Pirates survived a determined comeback attempt by the Niagara Falls Canucks on the way to a 5-4 win. Port Colborne made the score 5-2 on a goal by Charlie Izaguirre at 4:57 in the third period, and Niagara Falls got as close as 5-4 when Sloan Stewart scored 15:57 into the third period. The win moved the Pirates to down 2-0 in the best of seven series. With three goals and four assists between them, James Tyminski and Zach DeConcilys teamed up to power Port Colborne's offense. Tyminski finished with two goals and two assists and DeConcilys also notched one goal and two assists. The Pirates kept the Canucks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Cody Vinnai made 31 saves on 36 shots. Port Colborne was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play. Port Colborne also got a goal from Carson Minor as well. In addition, Port Colborne received assists from Patrick Murphy, Mitchell Pozsonyi, Drake Heart, Dima Lavrenov, and Mark Lucatra, who contributed one a piece. Niagara Falls' offense rang up 40 shots on the Pirates' net. The Canucks were led by Cam McLean, who had two goals and two assists. McLean scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 18:15 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A holding penalty on Evan Huckalo had put Niagara Falls on the power play. Brad Kri provided the assist. McLean's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Niagara Falls with 19:46 left in the second period. Cam Stewart also scored for Niagara Falls. More assists for Niagara Falls came via Drew Berkel, who had one and Ryan Wiley, who had two. Port Colborne's Real Cormier stopped 36 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Pirates ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major. For Port Colborne, DeConcilys and Dayne Phillips were ejected from the contest. The Canucks totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 3-for-7 on the power play. For Niagara Falls, Wiley was ejected from the game.
