Sam Forchielli was all over the ice for STONEY CREEK, as she tallied two goals and one assist in STONEY CREEK's 5-2 win over BLUEWATER. Forchielli's tallies came at 3:45 into the third period to make the score 3-1 STONEY CREEK and 19:14 into the third to make the score 5-2 STONEY CREEK.The win gave STONEY CREEK a 1-0 lead in the best of five series. STONEY CREEK pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes. STONEY CREEK also had goals scored by Chelsey Maclean, who had one and Rebecca Johnson, who had two. BLUEWATER forced STONEY CREEK goalie Elaine Chuli to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. BLUEWATER was helped by Leah Buress, who had one goal. Buress scored 1:11 into the third period to make the score 2-1 STONEY CREEK. Dominique Korakianitis provided the assist. BLUEWATER also got a goal from Lisa Downey as well. Other players who recorded assists for BLUEWATER were Jessica Wakefield, Shannon OReilly, and Brittany Taylor, who each chipped in one. Elaine Chuli made 41 saves for STONEY CREEK on 43 shots. STONEY CREEK registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. Brooke Gibson rejected 21 shots on goal for BLUEWATER. BLUEWATER incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
