Nick Hovanessian gave the St. Catharines Falcons a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Thorold Blackhawks when he scored 1:46 into the extra period.

With the win, St. Catharines evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown.

The Falcons were paced by Hovanessian, who racked up one goal.

Thorold was unable to stop St. Catharines from sending pucks towards the net, and the Falcons eventually piled up 51 shots on goal.

Dan MacEachern also scored for St. Catharines. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Kyle Woodhouse, Matt Melo, Riley Jakobschuk, and Kenny Bradford, who each chipped in one.

The Blackhawks were helped by Taylor D`Andrea, who tallied one goal. D`Andrea scored on the power play 11:05 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Thorold had taken the advantage when St. Catharines' Bradford got sent off for cross checking. Colt Kennedy picked up the assist. Other players who recorded assists for Thorold were Tanner Hildebrandt, who had one and Greg Cerilli, who had two.

Brad Pope recorded 20 saves for the Falcons. St. Catharines incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Blackhawks' Evan Buitenhuis stopped 48 shots out of the 51 that he faced. Thorold incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
