TORONTO wins tough contest against OAKVILLE, 4-2

TORONTO and OAKVILLE were evenly matched throughout their contest, but TORONTO made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Emma Greco's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

After the loss made the series score 0-2 in the best of five series, OAKVILLE faces elimination next time out.

TORONTO stifled OAKVILLE's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. TORONTO forced OAKVILLE goalie Camille Leonard to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

TORONTO was led by Brooke Webster, who grabbed two goals. Webster scored the first of her two goals at 4:07 into the first period to make the score 2-0 TORONTO. Audrey Potts provided the assist. Webster's next tally made the score 4-2 TORONTO with 21 seconds left in the third period. TORONTO also got a goal from Jaimie McDonell as well. Other players who recorded assists for TORONTO were Lindsey Allen, who had two and Morgan Kelly, Victoria Andreakos, and Devon Moir, who each chipped in one.

OAKVILLE was led by Victoria Bach, who had two goals. Bach scored the first of her two goals at 4:29 into the second period to make the score 2-1 TORONTO. Andrea Ziesmann (A) picked up the assist. Bach's next tally made the score 2-2 with 7:45 left in the third period. Caitlin Gilligan (A) assisted on the tally.

TORONTO's Taylor Hough stopped 14 shots out of the 16 that she faced. TORONTO incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Camille Leonard made 31 saves for OAKVILLE on 34 shots. OAKVILLE incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
