MISSISSAUGA's Hayley Masters scored 2:52 into overtime to beat BURLINGTON, 3-2 (OT). The win gave MISSISSAUGA a 1-0 lead in the best of five series. MISSISSAUGA was led by Masters, who registered one goal. MISSISSAUGA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four BURLINGTON power plays. MISSISSAUGA also got a goal from Kristyn Capizzano as well. In addition, MISSISSAUGA received assists from Hilary Lloyd, who had one and Kristen Tamberg, who had two. BURLINGTON excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. BURLINGTON was helped by Katie Hubert, who finished with one goal. Hubert scored 5:48 into the second period to make the score 1-0 BURLINGTON. Emily Janiga assisted on the tally. Melissa Goodwin also scored for BURLINGTON. More assists for BURLINGTON came via Emma Pearson, Karly Zammit, and Kristin Gilmour, who contributed one a piece. Liberty McKague rejected 25 shots on goal for MISSISSAUGA. MISSISSAUGA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Kierra Lambertucci recorded 20 saves for BURLINGTON. BURLINGTON incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
