Selber Wölfe penalty kill dominates in 2-1 defeat of EHC Dortmund

Selber Wölfe, which found itself down a man often, weathered EHC Dortmund's power play opportunities and emerged with a 2-1 victory.

After the loss made the series score 1-2 in the best of five series, EHC Dortmund faces elimination next time out.

Selber Wölfe was led by David Hördler, who grabbed one goal. Hördler scored 8:57 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Selber Wölfe. Ricco Warkus picked up the assist.

Selber Wölfe's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six EHC Dortmund power plays.

Selber Wölfe also got a goal from Daniel Heilman as well. Other players who recorded assists for Selber Wölfe were Jared Mudryk, Tom Pauker, and Herbert Geisberger, who each chipped in one.

EHC Dortmund managed to stay out of the box for the most part, finishing with only one major for 25 minutes in penalty time.

EHC Dortmund was led by Michael Schmerda, who scored the team's only goal. Schmerda scored eight seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 EHC Dortmund. Branislav Pohanka assisted on the tally.

Selber Wölfe incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. EHC Dortmund ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Stephan Kreuzmann was ejected from the game.
