MEC Halle 04 holds on for 5-4 win against EV Füssen

EV Füssen tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but MEC Halle 04 would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

A goal by Troy Bigam put MEC Halle 04 up 5-3 in the third period, but EV Füssen pulled to within one on Ruslan Bezshchasnyi's tally 15:18 into the third period.

After the loss made the series score 0-2 in the best of five series, EV Füssen faces elimination next time out.

MEC Halle 04 was sparked by Bigam, who had one goal. Bigam scored 2:56 into the third period to make the score MEC Halle 04. Andreas Schmelcher assisted on the tally.

MEC Halle 04 kept EV Füssen's goalie busy throughout the game, and Andre Irrgang made 35 saves on 40 shots.

MEC Halle 04 also got points from Sebastian Lehmann, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Ivan Kolozvary, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and Artur Lemmer, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Benjamin Thiede also scored for MEC Halle 04. More assists for MEC Halle 04 came via Eric Uwe Wunderlich, Kilian Glück, Alexander Zille, and Florian Eichelkraut, who contributed one a piece.

EV Füssen was helped by Yannik (FL) Baier, who registered one goal. Baier scored 12:04 into the first period to make the score 2-1 MEC Halle 04. Sebastian Wolsch provided the assist. EV Füssen also got a goal from Daniel (FL) Schmölz as well. In addition, EV Füssen received assists from Veit (FL) Holzmann and Pavel Mojtek, who each chipped in one and Andrej Naumann and Sascha Golts, who contributed two a piece.

Lukas Steinhauer made 23 saves for MEC Halle 04 on 27 shots. MEC Halle 04 incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. EV Füssen incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
