Milley's big game bests Brockville in 6-2 Pembroke win

The Pembroke Lumber Kings' Jonathan Milley had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 6-2 win over the Brockville Braves.

Milley got on the board by slotting home a power play goal 1:59 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Pembroke. Pembroke had gotten the advantage when Brockville's Zach Todd was sent off for tripping. Justin Stevens picked up the assist. Milley dished an assist on Patrice Wren's goal that made the score 2-2 at 11:38 into the second period. He added another helper on Ben Dalpe's goal that made the score 6-2 Pembroke at 7:08 into the third period.

The win moved the Lumber Kings to down 2-0 in the best of seven series.

Pembroke's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Brockville power plays. The Lumber Kings forced the Braves goalie Andrew Pikul to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.

Pembroke also got points from Trevor Packard, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Chris King also scored for Pembroke. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Will Seeber, Tom Hilbrich, Zach Loesch, Nathan Siydock, and Brandon Gagne, who contributed one a piece.

Brockville was led by Kevin Kirisits, who registered one goal and one assist. Kirisits scored 16:59 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville. Ben Blasko assisted on the tally. Brockville also got a goal from David Ferreira as well.

Francis Dupuis recorded 20 saves for Pembroke. The Lumber Kings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Braves' Pikul stopped 37 shots out of the 43 that he faced. Brockville incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
