Nepean Sportsplex Rink 1    Sun, Mar 18, 2012

Matt Zawadzki made 32 saves to complete the shutout and led the Nepean Raiders to a 3-0 win against the Smiths Falls Bears.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Smiths Falls faces elimination next time out.

Nepean was led by Brent Norris, who finished with one goal. Norris scored 1:47 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Nepean. Keenan Hodgson provided the assist.

The Raiders stifled the Bears' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Nepean's offense rang up 43 shots on Smiths Falls' net.

Nepean also got a goal from Brandon Watt as well. In addition, Nepean received assists from Mac Weegar, Ryan Johnston, and Dalen Hedges, who contributed one a piece.

The Bears put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Raiders to score on any of their four power plays. Nepean was unable to stop Smiths Falls from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bears eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

The Raiders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mackenzie Sawyer made 40 saves for Smiths Falls on 43 shots. The Bears incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
