Delhi rides Heath to victory over St. George, 5-1

Delhi Community Centre    Sun, Mar 11, 2012

Nick Heath stood on his head and made 32 saves to lead the Delhi Travellers to a 5-1 victory over the St. George Dukes.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, St. George faces elimination next time out.

Delhi was led by Reid Morrison, who had one goal. Morrison scored 18:27 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Delhi. Trever Beihn assisted on the tally.

The Travellers forced Dukes' goalies to work without much rest, ripping 37 shots and forcing 32 saves. Tanner Armstrong made 29 stops and Brandon Phillips made three. Delhi put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Dukes to score on any of their four power plays.

Delhi also got points from Harrison McRobert, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Delhi included Jake Legein, who had one and Taylor Hockley, who had two. More assists for Delhi came via Nathan Moyaert and Marty MacDonald, who contributed one a piece and Cody Stout and Travis Harper, who each chipped in two.

The Travellers were unable to stop St. George from sending pucks towards the net, and the Dukes eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Delhi incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. St. George incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
