St. Michaels falls to Toronto Lakeshore in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

The Toronto Lakeshore Patriots' Daniel Tedesco scored 1:27 into overtime to beat the St. Michaels Buzzers, 6-5 (OT).

The win by Toronto Lakeshore broke a deadlock and gave the Patriots a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

Toronto Lakeshore came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Patriots fell behind 4-1 after a goal by St. Michaels' Daniel Milne at 4:44 in the second period. Toronto Lakeshore knotted things up at 5-5 on a goal by Braedan Russell at 19:18 in the third period.

Tedesco had a great game for the Patriots, netting two goals.

Toronto Lakeshore stifled the Buzzers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Patriots kept St. Michaels' goalie busy throughout the game, and Adrian Ignagni made 40 saves on 46 shots. Toronto Lakeshore's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Toronto Lakeshore also got points from Rob Simpson, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Josh Wiley also scored for Toronto Lakeshore. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via James De Haas, Alex D Oliveira, Wes Deme, Doug Bonar, and James Ryan, who each chipped in one and Shane Cavalieri, Robbie Murden, and Luke Shiplo, who contributed two a piece.

The Buzzers forced Patriots' netminders to work without much rest, getting 41 shots and forcing 36 saves. Joseph Pianta made 29 stops and Cory Simic made seven.

St. Michaels additionally got points from Mark Cooper, who also had one goal and one assist. St. Michaels also got a goal from Tommy Sumi as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Michaels were Joseph Luongo, Taylor Clements, and Anthony Rizzo, who each chipped in one and David Italiano and Michael Neville, who contributed two a piece.

The Patriots incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. St. Michaels incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
