The Lakefield Chiefs fell behind early, and the Clarington Eagles kept piling on the points on the way to an 8-1 victory.

The win by Clarington clinched the best of seven series at 2-4.

Eric Kimmerly had two goals and two assists to lead the Eagles. Kimmerly scored the first of his two goals at 2:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Clarington. Kyle Sullivan picked up the assist. Kimmerly's next tally made the score 4-0 Clarington with 5:36 left in the first period. Marco Azzano provided the assist.

Lakefield was stymied by Clarington netminder Adam Wood, who stopped 25 shots during the victory. Wood managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.23 prior to the game.

The Eagles made Chiefs' goaltenders to work all game long, ripping 35 shots and forcing 27 saves. Brad Sutton made three stops and Dustin Cook made 24.

Clarington additionally got points from Brock Ackerman, who also registered one goal and two assists and Courtland Black-Araujo, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Clarington were Justin Devouge, who had two and Tyler Neil and Sam Jackson, who contributed one a piece.

Clarington incurred 42 minutes in penalty time with 16 minors. The Chiefs totaled 63 minutes in penalty time with 19 minors and one major and went 1-for-8 on the power play. For Lakefield, Matt Perras was ejected from the game.
