The Clarington Eagles tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Lakefield Chiefs held on for a 4-2 victory. Lakefield took a 4-1 lead during the second period, only to have Clarington storm back on a Courtland Black-Araujo goal 5:16 into the third period to pull to two goals down. After the loss made the series score 2-3 in the best of seven series, the Eagles face elimination next time out. The Chiefs pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 24 penalty minutes. Lakefield excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. The Chiefs were helped by Kyle Sullivan, who racked up one goal. Sullivan scored 2:06 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Lakefield. Travis Brault also scored for Lakefield. In addition, Lakefield received assists from Stephen Woodbeck and Pierce McIlmoyle (APM), who contributed one a piece. Clarington's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Lakefield power plays. The Eagles were helped by Brandon Hesson, who registered one goal. Hesson scored 19:14 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Lakefield. Other players who recorded assists for Clarington were Brock Ackerman and Brad Down, who each chipped in one. Lakefield ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Tyler Stone was ejected from the game. Clarington incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
