Lakefield pulls away in second, rolls over Clarington, 5-1

The Clarington Eagles allowed the Lakefield Chiefs to net three goals during the second period and fell, 5-1.

The win gave Lakefield a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Chiefs pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 16 penalty minutes.

Lakefield was sparked by Nathan Larson, who registered one goal. Larson scored 4:16 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Lakefield. Mike Madgett assisted on the tally.

Lakefield additionally got points from Kyle Sullivan, who also had one goal and one assist. Lakefield also got a goal from Jordan Walsh as well. In addition, Lakefield received assists from George Ripoll, Stephen Woodbeck, Mitchell Purdie, and Derek Manley, who each chipped in one.

The Chiefs registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. Clarington incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
