McKeown nets hat trick, leads Campbellford to 6-3 win over Picton

Joe McKeown netted a hat trick to lead the Campbellford Rebels over the Picton Pirates, 6-3.

McKeown got on the scoresheet 9:05 into the second period. He then added goals at 12:23 into the second and at 3:23 into the third.

The win by Campbellford clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

The Rebels kept Picton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Matt Kaludis made 40 saves on 46 shots.

Campbellford also got points from Seamus McDougall, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Campbellford also had goals scored by Lucas Hooley and Levi George, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Campbellford were Josh Adams, who had three and Steven Clarke, Nick Orton, and Darryl Thompson, who each chipped in one.

The Pirates' offense rang up 34 shots on Campbellford's net.

Picton was helped by Mitch Rosborough, who registered one goal. Rosborough scored 9:57 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Campbellford. Abbott Girduckis assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Picton included Dylan Burdick and Evan Greer, who each put in one. More assists for Picton came via Brandon Peever, Jack Davison, and Tyler Kearns, who contributed one each.

The Rebels' Cole Mahoney - APM stopped 31 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Campbellford incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Pirates incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
