Labrecque leads Campbellford to shutout victory over PictonPrince Edward Sun, Mar 04, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Jesse Labrecque was superb between the pipes for the Campbellford Rebels, as he did not allow a goal in a 2-0 victory over the Picton Pirates. The win gave Campbellford a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Rebels were led by Seamus McDougall, who tallied one goal. McDougall scored 8:58 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Campbellford. Justin Crowley picked up the assist. Picton was unable to stop Campbellford from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rebels eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Campbellford did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with only one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Connor Turland also scored for Campbellford. The Pirates put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Rebels to score on any of their three power plays. Jesse Labrecque made 28 saves for Campbellford on 28 shots. Picton's Matt Kaludis stopped 31 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Pirates incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. |
