KUA hangs on, beats Dexter 2-0

Elie Vered scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and KUA held off the challenges of Dexter in a tough 2-0 win.

KUA took over the lead for good with a goal by Vered at 11:29 in the first period. KUA earned a power play opportunity when Shane Rinkus was put in the box for roughing. Doyle Somerby provided the assist.

KUA was sparked by Vered, who finished with one goal and one assist.

KUA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Nick Roberto also scored for KUA. More assists for KUA came via Casey Miller and Jordan Babb, who contributed one a piece.

Dexter did not rack up many penalties in the contest, tallying just one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Ryan Lund made 21 saves for KUA on 21 shots. KUA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Joe Kelly rejected 19 shots on goal for Dexter.
