James Steele was all over the ice for the Toledo Cherokee, as he tallied two goals in Toledo's 6-1 win over the Battle Creek Jr. Revolution. Steele scored at 1:41 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toledo and again while on the power play 17:23 into the first to make the score 2-0 Toledo.After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Battle Creek faces elimination next time out. The Cherokee's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Battle Creek power plays. Toledo kept the Jr. Revolution's goalie busy throughout the game, and Matthew Hughes made 55 saves on 61 shots. Christos Papaioannou also scored for Toledo. In addition, Toledo received assists from Gary Neill, who had two, Ryan Kelly, who had three, and Jake Manders, Ben Henry, Donnie Nagle, and Mareks Kepals, who each chipped in one. The Cherokee's Lukas Gavalier stopped 20 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Toledo totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. Battle Creek incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
