OTTAWA holds on for 2-1 win against WHITBY

OTTAWA survived a determined comeback attempt by WHITBY on the way to a 2-1 win.

OTTAWA made the score 2-0 on a goal by Morgan McNeil at 5:14 in the second period, and WHITBY got as close as 2-1 when Krista Yip-Chuck scored 3:21 into the third period.

The win by OTTAWA clinched the best of five series at 3-2.

OTTAWA was paced by McNeil, who racked up one goal.

OTTAWA kept WHITBY's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brianna Quade made 37 saves on 39 shots. OTTAWA did not rack up many penalties in the contest, racking up just one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Cydney Roesler (C) also scored for OTTAWA. More assists for OTTAWA came via Mackenzie Lalonde, Jessica Harvey, Paige Belair, and Alanna Grossutti, who each chipped in one.

Other players who recorded assists for WHITBY were Nicole Brown, who had one.

Amanda Leveille recorded 21 saves for OTTAWA. OTTAWA registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. WHITBY incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
