TORONTO uses big second period to beat SOUTHWEST, 7-1

SOUTHWEST allowed TORONTO to net three goals during the second period and fell, 7-1.

The win by TORONTO clinched the best of five series at 0-3.

Laura Stacey was all over the ice for TORONTO, as she tallied two goals and three assists in the win. Stacey scored the first of her two goals at 10:29 into the first period to make the score 2-1 TORONTO. Ailish Forfar assisted on the tally. Stacey's next tally made the score 6-1 TORONTO with 13:55 left in the third period. Kryshanda Green picked up the assist.

SOUTHWEST was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as TORONTO was able to score five times while on the power play.

TORONTO made SOUTHWEST's goaltenders to work in net, firing 35 shots and forcing 28 saves. Sarah McGall made 21 stops and Katrina Heyink made seven.

TORONTO additionally got points from Kate Martini, who also finished with one goal and two assists. TORONTO also got a goal from Brooke Webster as well. More assists for TORONTO came via Morgan Kelly, Lindsey Allen, Devon Moir, Stephanie Chiste, and Erin Ambrose, who each chipped in one.

SOUTHWEST was led by Lauren Lefler, who scored the team's only goal. Lefler scored 4:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 SOUTHWEST. Dayna Hansen assisted on the tally.

Taylor Hough recorded 20 saves for TORONTO. TORONTO incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. SOUTHWEST incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
