BLUEWATER took the lead against DURHAM WEST in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 3-1 victory. BLUEWATER took over the lead for good with a goal by Phoebe Piku at 1:51 in the first period. Cayley Mercer provided the assist.The win by BLUEWATER clinched the best of five series at 3-0. Rebecca Kohler was all over the ice for BLUEWATER, as she finished with two goals in the win. Kohler found the back of the net 16:03 into the third period to make the score 2-0 BLUEWATER and again while 19:34 into the third to make the score 3-1 BLUEWATER. BLUEWATER pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 18 penalty minutes. BLUEWATER excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. Other players who recorded assists for BLUEWATER were Kayla Black and Dominique Korakianitis, who each chipped in one. DURHAM WEST's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as DURHAM WEST finished with 16 penalty minutes. DURHAM WEST was led by Laura Horwood, who scored the team's only goal. Horwood scored 16:21 into the third period to make the score 2-1 BLUEWATER. Lindsey McDonald picked up the assist. Kayla Black made 24 saves for BLUEWATER on 25 shots. BLUEWATER registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Jackie Rochefort recorded 24 saves for DURHAM WEST.
