STONEY CREEK holds on for 4-3 win against NEPEAN

NEPEAN tried its best to erase a four-goal deficit, but STONEY CREEK would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

STONEY CREEK took a 4-0 lead during the third period, only to have NEPEAN storm back on a Madison Shelley goal 17:43 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

After the loss made the series score 2-1 in the best of five series, NEPEAN faces elimination next time out.

STONEY CREEK was led by Taylor Auld (A), who tallied one goal. Auld (A) scored 59 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 STONEY CREEK. Sydney McKibbon (C) picked up the assist.

STONEY CREEK additionally got points from Sam Forchielli, who also had one goal and one assist. STONEY CREEK also got a goal from Hannah Bale as well. More assists for STONEY CREEK came via Brandi Banks (A), who had one and Chelsey Maclean, who had two.

NEPEAN excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. NEPEAN could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Other players who recorded assists for NEPEAN were Megan Eady and Keira St. Laurent, who each chipped in one and Haley Northcote and Mackenzie Stone, who contributed two a piece.

Elaine Chuli rejected 18 shots on goal for STONEY CREEK. STONEY CREEK incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. NEPEAN's starting goalie, Mati Barrett, made 20 saves and finished with the loss before she was taken out in favor of Peyton Parker, who stopped four shots. NEPEAN registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
