BURLINGTON had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over CAMBRIDGE. The win by BURLINGTON clinched the best of five series at 0-3. CAMBRIDGE's power play was ineffective against BURLINGTON's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. BURLINGTON was led by Hayley Scamurra, who had one goal. Scamurra scored 14:23 into the first period to make the score 2-0 BURLINGTON. Emily Janiga picked up the assist. BURLINGTON's offense rang up 33 shots on CAMBRIDGE's net. BURLINGTON could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game. BURLINGTON had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on 10 chances. BURLINGTON also got points from Taylor Accursi, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Christine Grant, who also tallied one goal and one assist. BURLINGTON also got a goal from Renata Fast as well. In addition, BURLINGTON received assists from Michelle Quick, who had two, Katie Hubert, who had three, and Karly Zammit, Mellissa Channell, and Anissa Gamble, who each chipped in one. CAMBRIDGE's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as CAMBRIDGE finished with 30 penalty minutes. Kasia Henley recorded 21 saves for BURLINGTON. Abby Huggins rejected 27 shots on goal for CAMBRIDGE. CAMBRIDGE ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kate Gilkinson (A) was ejected from the game.
