TORONTO rolls over SOUTHWEST, 5-0

TORONTO had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-0 win over SOUTHWEST.

After the loss made the series score 2-0 in the best of five series, SOUTHWEST faces elimination next time out.

Laura Stacey had a great game for TORONTO, netting two goals. Stacey found the back of the net 2:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 TORONTO and again while 13:24 into the third to make the score 4-0 TORONTO.

TORONTO's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five SOUTHWEST power plays. TORONTO forced SOUTHWEST goalie Hanna (PU) Slatter to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

TORONTO also had goals scored by Morgan Kelly, who had one and Brooke Webster, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for TORONTO were Devon Moir and Erin Ambrose, who contributed one a piece and Lindsey Allen, Kryshanda Green, and Ailish Forfar, who each chipped in two.

SOUTHWEST did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 11 shots on net to force 11 saves. SOUTHWEST could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Sarah Stephens recorded 11 saves for TORONTO. TORONTO incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Hanna (PU) Slatter made 27 saves for SOUTHWEST on 32 shots.
