BURLINGTON holds on for 4-3 win against CAMBRIDGE

BURLINGTON survived a determined comeback attempt by CAMBRIDGE on the way to a 4-3 win.

A goal by Anissa Gamble put BURLINGTON up 4-2 in the third period, but CAMBRIDGE pulled to within one on Kate Gilkinson (A)'s tally 17:29 into the third period.

After the loss made the series score 2-0 in the best of five series, CAMBRIDGE faces elimination next time out.

BURLINGTON was led by Gamble, who grabbed one goal. Gamble scored 16:53 into the third period to make the score BURLINGTON. Mellissa Channell provided the assist.

BURLINGTON excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. BURLINGTON's offense rang up 37 shots on CAMBRIDGE's net.

BURLINGTON additionally got points from Taylor Accursi, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Michelle Quick also scored for BURLINGTON. In addition, BURLINGTON received assists from Logan Boyd, Karly Zammit, Olivia Whitford, and Kristin Gilmour, who contributed one a piece.

BURLINGTON's defense shut down CAMBRIDGE's forwards for much of the game, and CAMBRIDGE got off only 12 shots during the contest. CAMBRIDGE's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as CAMBRIDGE finished with 20 penalty minutes.

CAMBRIDGE was helped by Brooklyn Irwin, who had one goal. Irwin scored 10:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 CAMBRIDGE. CAMBRIDGE also got points from Kaileigh Grant (A), who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for CAMBRIDGE came via Jessica Staats (A) and Emma Davidson, who each chipped in one.

Kierra Lambertucci made two saves before being replaced by Kasia Henley, who took the win and made seven saves. BURLINGTON incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Jenna Sosnoski rejected 33 shots on goal for CAMBRIDGE.
