LaSalle falls to London in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

The London Nationals' Adam Rzeszutko scored 48 seconds into overtime to beat the LaSalle Vipers, 6-5 (OT).

The win gave London a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Aaron Dartch had two goals and one assist to lead the Nationals. Dartch scored the first of his two goals at 9:49 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Paul Hopkins assisted on the tally. Dartch's next tally made the score 2-1 London with 4:12 left in the first period. London had taken the advantage when LaSalle's Chris Pignanelli got sent off for holding stick. Noah Schwartz provided the assist.

The Nationals' penalty kill unit could not stop the Vipers' power play, which converted on three of five opportunities.

London also had goals scored by Daniel Cameron, who had one and Tyler Bryden, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for London were Clark West, who had one and Pieter Schinkelshoek, who had two.

London was unable to stop LaSalle from sending pucks towards the net, and the Vipers eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

LaSalle was helped by Dylan Denomme, who registered two goals and two assists. Denomme scored the first of his two goals at 9:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 LaSalle. Scott Prier assisted on the tally. Denomme's next tally made the score 4-4 with two seconds left in the second period. The Vipers earned a power play opportunity when Ian MacDonald was put in the box for interference. Matt Beaudoin provided the assist. LaSalle also got points from Eric Noel, who also tallied one goal and two assists. LaSalle also got a goal from Patrick Murphy as well.

Taylor Edwards rejected 31 shots on goal for the Nationals. London incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. LaSalle's Jordan Dekort stopped 22 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Vipers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
