AURORA failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and TORONTO shook off a number of penalties to win, 3-0. The win gave TORONTO a 1-0 lead in the best of one series. TORONTO was led by Erin Ambrose, who grabbed one goal. Ambrose scored 6:56 into the second period to make the score 1-0 TORONTO. Laura Stacey picked up the assist. TORONTO forced AURORA's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 37 shots and forcing 34 saves. Paula Voorheis made 34 stops and Claire Shaw made zero. TORONTO excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. TORONTO also got a goal from Kate Martini as well. In addition, TORONTO received assists from Kryshanda Green, who had two and Victoria Andreakos and Devon Moir, who each chipped in one. AURORA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three TORONTO power plays. TORONTO's Sarah Stephens stopped 17 shots out of the 17 that she faced. TORONTO incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. AURORA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
