Alliston survives Stayner comeback, wins 6-4

The Alliston Hornets survived a determined comeback attempt by the Stayner Siskins on the way to a 6-4 win.

Alliston made the score 6-3 on a goal by Mike Campeau at 3:47 in the third period, and Stayner got as close as 6-4 when Cooper Martin scored 6:03 into the third period.

The win moved the Hornets to down 2-0 in the best of seven series.

The Siskins were unable to stop Alliston from sending pucks towards the net, and the Hornets eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Alliston also got points from Randy Cox, who also registered one goal and four assists and Matt Thompson, who also had one goal and two assists. Eric Shannon also scored for Alliston. Other players who recorded assists for Alliston were Cam Nicoll, who had one and Mark ODonnell, who had two.

Stayner was led by Bradley Latour, who finished with one goal and one assist. Latour scored 3:26 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Alliston. Corey De Rose assisted on the tally. Stayner also got a goal from Dylan Bursey as well. In addition, Stayner received assists from Riley Brooks, William Gerow, and Jeff Moniz, who contributed one a piece.

Alliston's Robbie Alsop stopped 20 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Hornets incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jordan Lee rejected 36 shots on goal for the Siskins. Stayner incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
