Lambeth downs Exeter in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Lambeth Lancers pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Exeter Hawks on a clutch goal by Mitch Thomas.

The win by Lambeth clinched the best of seven series at 2-4.

The Lancers were paced by Thomas, who finished with one goal and one assist. Thomas scored 1:57 into overtime to make the score 4-3 Lambeth. Dale Morningstar picked up the assist.

Exeter was unable to stop Lambeth from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lancers eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Lambeth also got a goal from Tanner Smith as well. In addition, Lambeth received assists from Kyle Murphy, who had one and Greg Douglas, who had two.

The Hawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Exeter's offense rang up 40 shots on Lambeth's net.

The Hawks were helped by Ryan Consitt, who racked up one goal. Consitt scored 5:45 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Exeter. Mitch Vandergunst assisted on the tally. Exeter also got points from Kalvin Thornton, who also had one goal and one assist. Rob Brock also scored for Exeter. Other players who recorded assists for Exeter were Josh Brideau and John Kingma, who each chipped in one.

JP Trudell rejected 37 shots on goal for the Lancers. Lambeth incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Lancers, Mitch Furlonger was ejected from the game. Exeter's Aaron Bedard stopped 27 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Hawks incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
