Brandon Montour had one goal and two assists to lead the Brantford Golden Eagles to a 5-1 victory over the Kitchener Dutchmen. Montour scored on the power play 16:49 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Brantford. A slashing penalty on Eric Hammerl had put Brantford on the power play. Tyler Norrie provided the assist. Montour dished an assist on Mike Rebry's goal that made the score 2-1 Brantford at 19:14 into the second period. He added another helper on Mike Riley's goal that made the score 5-1 Brantford at 10:10 into the third period.After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Kitchener faces elimination next time out. The Golden Eagles' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Kitchener power plays. Brantford kept the Dutchmen's goalie busy throughout the game, and Mario Duscio made 57 saves on 62 shots. The Golden Eagles' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Brantford finished with 24 penalty minutes. Brantford also got points from Trent Hawke, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Brantford were Jeff Swift and Matt Quilty, who each chipped in one. Kitchener was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 36 penalty minutes. The Dutchmen were led by Steven Jakiela, who scored the team's only goal. Jakiela scored 17:58 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Bryce O Hagan recorded 19 saves for the Golden Eagles. Brantford registered three goals on nine power play opportunities.
