Leamington rips Strathroy, 6-2

The Strathroy Rockets had trouble finding ways to stop the Leamington Flyers, which beat Rockets, 6-2.

After the loss made the series score 2-3 in the best of seven series, Strathroy faces elimination next time out.

The Rockets were unable to stop Leamington from sending pucks towards the net, and the Flyers eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

Leamington was helped by Chris Scott, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Scott scored 7:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Leamington. Jared Dennis picked up the assist. Leamington also got points from Nicholas Nicodemo, who also had one goal and one assist, Austin Mattson, who also registered one goal and one assist, Alex Seguin, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Eric Leardi, who also had one goal and one assist. Leamington also got a goal from Tony Spidalieri as well. More assists for Leamington came via Ron Soucie, Brett Babkirk, Jake Hopfner, and Tyler Quigley, who each chipped in one.

Strathroy excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Rockets kept the Flyers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Colin Greeley made 36 saves on 38 shots.

Strathroy was led by Tyler Duarte, who finished with one goal and one assist. Duarte scored 9:44 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Leamington. Nick Boyer provided the assist. Greg Milner also scored for Strathroy. In addition, Strathroy received assists from Derek Nap and Brett Dyck, who contributed one a piece.

Leamington incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Dalen Kuchmey recorded 34 saves for the Rockets. Strathroy incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
