Farmingdale State pulls away in second, rolls over University at Albany, 7-2

The University at Albany Great Danes allowed the Farmingdale State Rams to net four goals during the second period and fell, 7-2.

Jack Radin had two goals and one assist to lead Farmingdale State. Radin scored the first of his two goals at 9:44 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Farmingdale State. Scott Brennan picked up the assist. Radin's next tally made the score 3-0 Farmingdale State with 7:08 left in the second period. Joseph Mione provided the assist.

The defensemen of the Rams were also effective in University at Albany's zone, and came away with two goals.

Farmingdale State also got points from Radin, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Farmingdale State included Michael Tardino, who had two and John Mendicino, Robert Grogan, and Michael Leprine, who each put in one. More assists for Farmingdale State came via Kyle Catalano, who had two and Tristen Heidenrich and Frank Florio, who each chipped in one.

The Great Danes' offense operated below they season average. University at Albany puts an average of four pucks into the net per game.

The Great Danes were helped by Michael Manna, who tallied one goal. Manna scored on the power play 19:29 into the third period to make the score 7-2 Farmingdale State. A unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Thomas Backmann had put University at Albany on the power play. Adam Rakoczy picked up the assist. University at Albany got a goal from Dan Wall as well.

Matthew Cammarata recorded 16 saves for Farmingdale State. The Rams incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Team's Heidenrich and Backmann were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. The Great Danes' Thomas Caswell stopped 22 shots out of the 29 that he faced. University at Albany incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
