A hat trick by Tyler Pope-Ferguson was the highlight in 73s' 6-3 win against the Dresden Kings. Pope-Ferguson notched his first tally 17:01 into the first period. He then added goals at 2:29 into the third and at 14:22 into the third.The win by the Essex 73s clinched the best of seven series at 2-4. Essex stifled Dresden's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The 73s forced the Kings goalie Brent Paxton to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Kevin Boggs also scored for Essex. Other players who recorded assists for Essex were Blaise Baillargeon, who had two and Tyler Raymont, Sean Ducharme, Aaron Thibert, Zack Miletic, Daniel McIntyre, and Chad Hedrick, who each chipped in one. Dresden's offense rang up 35 shots on Essex's net. The Kings got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Dresden was helped by Macks Holmes, who registered one goal. Holmes scored 27 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-1 Essex. Brennan Rainey picked up the assist. Dresden also got a goal from Jim Rouse as well. More assists for Dresden came via Jim McKinlay, who had one and Jeremy Griffore and Cam Ross, who each chipped in two. Arren Romeril rejected 32 shots on goal for the 73s. Essex incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Kings' Paxton stopped 34 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Dresden incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
