Stemke's hat trick boosts Suffolk Juniors over Brewster Bulldogs, 5-1

Brewster Bulldogs could not stop Suffolk Juniors' Chris Stemke, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-1 win.

Stemke notched his first tally 1:09 into the second period. He then added goals at 4:08 into the second and at 17:08 into the second.

The win gave Suffolk Juniors a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Brewster Bulldogs was stymied by Suffolk Juniors netminder Anthony Pupplo, who stopped 32 shots during the victory. Pupplo managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 4.88 prior to the game.

Suffolk Juniors forced Brewster Bulldogs goalie Brandon Belz to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots.

Suffolk Juniors additionally got points from Christopher Seeback, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Suffolk Juniors also got a goal from Brian Tumolo as well. In addition, Suffolk Juniors received assists from Brian Kesler, who had two.

Brewster Bulldogs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Suffolk Juniors power plays. Suffolk Juniors was unable to stop Brewster Bulldogs from sending pucks towards the net, and Brewster Bulldogs eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Brewster Bulldogs was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 14 penalty minutes.

Brewster Bulldogs was led by Brad Alexander, who scored the team's only goal. Alexander scored on the power play 12:10 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Suffolk Juniors. Brewster Bulldogs had taken the advantage when Suffolk Juniors' Cameron Smith got sent off for charging. Kevin Kennedy provided the assist.

Suffolk Juniors incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Brandon Belz made 48 saves for Brewster Bulldogs on 53 shots. Brewster Bulldogs registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
