Mass Maple Leafs rips New England Huskies, 3-0

Mass Maple Leafs had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 3-0 win over New England Huskies.

The win gave Mass Maple Leafs a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Mass Maple Leafs was led by Kurtis Garcia, who grabbed one goal. Garcia scored short handed 14:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mass Maple Leafs. Mass Maple Leafs was on a disadvantage when Joseph Fernandes went off the ice for tripping. Colin Cordeiro assisted on the tally.

Mass Maple Leafs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three New England Huskies power plays. Mass Maple Leafs forced New England Huskies goalie Benjamin Gagnon to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots.

Adam McGrath also scored for Mass Maple Leafs. In addition, Mass Maple Leafs received assists from Kevin Murphy and Keanen Romero, who each chipped in one.

New England Huskies excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Donald Hesse rejected 16 shots on goal for Mass Maple Leafs. Mass Maple Leafs incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Gagnon recorded 42 saves for New England Huskies. New England Huskies ended with 31 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. For New England Huskies, Tomas Parizek was ejected from the game.
