In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Lakefield Chiefs escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Georgina Ice. Lakefield gained the winning advantage on a goal by Tyler Stone 10:55 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer. The win by the Chiefs clinched the best of seven series at 4-1. Lakefield was led by Mike Madgett, who tallied one goal and one assist. Madgett scored short handed 8:47 into the second period to make the score 2-2. The Chiefs were on a disadvantage when Stone went off the ice for delay of game. Lakefield was sparked by Madgett, who grabbed one goal and one assist. The Chiefs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game. Lakefield got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Kyle Sullivan also scored for Lakefield. More assists for Lakefield came via Matt Perras, who had one. Georgina excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. The Ice were led by Mackenzie Maynard, who racked up two goals. Maynard scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 1:56 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Georgina earned a power play opportunity when Jordan Walsh was put in the box for hooking. JD Leblond picked up the assist. Maynard's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Georgina with 44 seconds left in the first period. John Livingston provided the assist. In addition, Georgina received assists from Scott Sandercock and Scott Sedore, who contributed one a piece. The Ice incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
